Generator Size Calculator privacy policy

Effective date: September 30, 2026

This policy covers the Generator Size Calculator Chrome extension published by Backup Generator Guide. It covers the extension's toolbar popup and its packaged full-tab calculator.

Data the extension handles

The extension processes the information you enter into its calculator: appliance or load names, running watts, extra starting watts, and headroom. It uses those inputs to calculate your power plan.

It automatically saves one draft, including incomplete entries, in chrome.storage.local in the current Chrome profile. This is local extension storage, not Chrome sync storage. Replacing or deleting the draft may retain the previous plan temporarily in the open calculator's memory to support Undo. That temporary copy is replaced by later plan replacements or removed when the calculator closes.

Enter appliance information rather than names, addresses, passwords, or other private information. The calculator does not require identity, contact, financial, health, or authentication information.

Collection, transmission, and sharing

Backup Generator Guide does not receive your calculator inputs or saved plan. The extension has no analytics, advertising tracking, telemetry, account system, or server connection. It does not read other websites, browsing history, cookies, or open-tab contents. Its calculator code and assets are included in the extension package.

The extension does not sell, transfer, or disclose your plan to the developer, advertisers, data brokers, or other third parties. Data is used only to provide the calculator and restore your local draft. This use complies with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.

Actions you choose

Retention and deletion

Your saved draft remains in the current Chrome profile until you replace or delete it or uninstall the extension. Use Delete saved plan to clear the saved draft. Uninstalling the extension removes its local extension storage. Clearing normal browsing history does not necessarily remove extension storage.

Files you export, clipboard contents, and printed copies are outside the extension's storage. Delete or clear those separately using the relevant device or browser controls.

Contact and changes

For questions, use the publisher contact shown on the extension's Chrome Web Store listing, or visit Backup Generator Guide. This policy will be updated if the extension's data practices change.
